What We believe

  • Bible -The Word of God – We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak. (Matthew 5:17; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12).

  • The Trinity – We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that they are co-equal in attributes and perfections, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)

  • God the Father – We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 6:27; Acts 17:29; Ephesians 4:6; Hebrews 1:1-3).

  • God the SonWe believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son, one in essence with the Father and the Spirit, true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  We believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, and His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal return from heaven. (Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:30-35; Luke 3:22; John 1:1-2, 1:18; 3:16; Hebrews 1:8).

  • God the Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit is one in essence with the Father and the Son. We believe in His personality, and His work of regeneration, sanctification, and preservation. His ministry glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ, and implements Christ’s work of redeeming the lost and empowering the believer for godly living and service. (John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; 1Corinthians 2:10-11; 2 Peter 1:21).

  1. Man – We believe God created man, male and female, in His image and for His glory.  We further believe man, as a result of Adam’s sin, is a sinner by nature and choice and is therefore spiritually dead; that those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; 2:7, 17, 22-23; Romans 3:10-18; 1 John 3:8).
  2. The Family – In God’s design for humanity, life begins at fertilization. He established the institution of family through the union of one man and one woman in a marriage covenant for life. His design for the continuance of humanity is through procreation within the marriage union. Marriage is to be an example of the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Church. (Genesis 1:27; Ephesians 5:22-33).

  • Salvation – We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God; purchased by Christ on the cross, and is received by man, once forever, through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or rituals. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 1:12;  2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 3:18).

  • Resurrection of the Body – We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and lost, the eternal existence of all men either in heaven or hell, in divine judgments, rewards, and punishments. (John 5:28; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelations 20:4, 11-15).

  • The Personality of SatanWe believe that there is a fallen angel named Lucifer who is the Devil, a being of great cunning and power; the Prince of the Air, the lion seeking someone to devour, that he has been cast out of the highest Heavens, that his power is limited by God, and that he shall be cast into the Lake of Fire forever. (Job 1:5-12; Job 2:1-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Ezek. 28:12-25; Jn. 12:31; Jn.6:11; Eph. 2:2; Heb. 2:14; Rev. 20:1-3; Rev. 20:10)
